La Rosiere
La Rosière is very different from its famous neighbours such as Val d’Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs – much smaller, quieter and sunnier.
La Rosière is built in traditional chalet style high up on the road from Bourg-St-Maurice to the Petit St Bernard pass to Italy. In winter the road ends at a car park at the top of La Rosière, just below the main lifts. There’s a small main village and an even smaller, newer satellite (Les Eucherts), a short bus ride – or a floodlit forest walk – to the east. This is more or less self-sufficient, but offers less choice of everything than the main village.
The ski resort Espace San Bernardo – La Rosière/La Thuile is located in the Tarentaise (France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc, Savoie, Albertville) and on the Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco) (Italy, Aosta Valley (Valle d'Aosta)). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 160 km of slopes available. 33 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,176 and 2,641 m.
La Rosiere- Espace San Bernardo is the unique international ski area linking France & Italy in the North Alps. Thanks to its South exposure, la Rosière ski resort is a very sunny resort, at 1850 m altitude.
